A&A Trading Ltd. (A&A) is seeking a motivated and open-minded Planning Forester to join our team. The Planning Forester will play a crucial role in our forestry operations, overseeing planning activities, conducting higher level planning analysis, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and writing Site Plans. The Planning Forester will also participate in integrated resource management planning initiatives and support our silviculture team on an as needed basis. The ideal candidate will possess strong interpersonal skills and be capable of building and maintaining strong relationships with representatives of Indigenous Nations, the Province of BC, stakeholders, and industry contacts.
Preferred and Required Qualifications:
• Required: Registered Professional Forester (RPF) with Forest Professionals British Columbia
• Required: 5 years of experience in the forest sector and strong knowledge of forest legislation
• Required: BSc or equivalent degree in Forestry or a related field
• Required: Willingness to travel and be away from home for up to one week at a time
• Required: Class 5 Driver’s License
• Preferred: Experience working with Indigenous Peoples
• Preferred: Operational experience
• Preferred: Experience directly related to stand and landscape level forest planning and knowledge of applications such as ArcGIS, Phoenix, RESULTS, FSP Tracker, ESF, etc.
Compensation:
• Salary range between $75,000 – $90,000
