Jon is a Registered Professional Forester and has built his career on a strong foundation of fundamental natural resource management concepts and practices. 

 With over 25 years’ experience in the woods, Jon began his career working on the Sunshine Coast and Squamish-Whistler-Pemberton corridor.  Working in urbanized areas, close to private lands and public infrastructure has given Jon a strong appreciation of what it means to have public support for managing our natural resources.  

His tenure working in the same areas has strengthened his ties to the affected communities and he enjoys furthering lasting relationships with his partners and peers. Primarily being involved in the pre-planning, engineering, and operational phases of logging, Jon firmly believes that through good planning and proper execution, sustainable forestry operations can provide for healthy and vibrant communities, and the families within them. 

 As an avid outdoors enthusiast, Jon can often be found fishing, camping, biking and hiking in the same areas he lives and works in. In a supportive role for sustainable natural resource use, Jon has served for the District of North Vancouver’s Parks Advisory Committee.
