Matt is a Registered Professional Forester born and raised in North Vancouver, BC. After graduating from the British Columbia Institute of Technology in 2016, he launched into a forestry career out of A&A’s Campbell River office, working primarily with our Nootka Sound Timber enterprise as an Assistant Engineer.
After a couple busy years on the West Coast, Matt moved to Terrace, BC, to take on a role as an Assistant Planning Forester. While in Terrace, he received his RFT designation. With his thirtieth birthday approaching sooner than he’d like, Matt decided to return to the University of British Columbia in 2020 to complete his Bachelor of Science in Forestry. In 2021, he spent his token summer student term working on Nootka Island and in other company operations.
Graduating in 2022, Matt has now returned to A&A as a Logging Engineer. He brings a diverse skill set in planning and engineering to the management of the company’s operations, and in 2023 earned his credentials as an RPF.
When not crashing through coastal forests, looking over his shoulder for bears, or polishing off that sixth cup of coffee, Matt can be found hiking, cruising backroads on his motorcycle, and (very) slowly improving his abilities as a guitarist.
