Ben began his career in the coastal forest industry pulling timbers off the green chain at a cedar sawmill on central Vancouver Island.  In 2010, he earned his coastal scaling license. He scaled and graded timber for most major licensees on Vancouver Island and also on the Sunshine Coast.  In 2014 he was recruited as staff by a large private forest land management company where he spent 11 years.

During his career so far, Ben took on a variety of roles, including quality control, scaling supervision, timber purchasing, logistics, log flow, product planning, government liason projects and systems project work. He’s very keen on the modernization of the coastal forest sector with exciting new and old tech.

When not at work, Ben enjoys playing where he works and exploring new areas with his family.
